Kelly Dale Franklin, 73 of Provo, Kentucky passed away Sunday April 30, 2017 at his residence. Dale was born August 17, 1943 in Provo, Kentucky to the late William "Bill" and Eliene Holman Franklin. He was a member Monticello Missionary Baptist Church, Butler County High School graduate, attended University of Louisville and worked at International Harvester and Kellwood before starting his own business Dame Manufacturing. Co-founder of Provo fish club, which held fish fries and fireworks yearly for the community, friends and family for 15years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and was appointed by Gov. Ernie Fletcher to the Kentucky Fish & Wildlife commission for a 4 year term and was chairman of the board for 2 years. He was named a honorary agriculture commissioner by Ryan Quarrles. Dale loved to hunt and fish in all area of the world and gave generously of his time and money to help others and loved his family, friends and community.
Kelly Dale Franklin is survived by his loving wife Martha Keen Franklin of Provo, Kentucky; one daughter Darla Henry and husband Nathan of Provo, Kentucky; two sons Bryan Franklin of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Jarrett Franklin and wife JoAnna of Boone, North Carolina; one step daughter Pam Powell and husband Chad of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother Tommy Franklin and wife Mary Jo of Provo, Ky.; one sister Debbie Phelps and husband Pete of Woodbury, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 11:00am with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Monticello Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2017 from 1:30pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
