In 1993 we realized that to better serve the families that put their trust in us, we needed to upgrade our facilities. At that time a major construction project began when complete would make Jones Funeral Chapel one of the most spacious and well equipped funeral homes in the area. We began with a new office so we could better handle the day to day business operations. The next step was a large addition on the back of the original building. This enabled us to have a large lounge area which included more seating for visitors.
Large handicap accessible restrooms, a flower room, selection and merchandise room, and an arrangement office were also added. The arrangement office provides a spacious and private area for families to make funeral arrangements. Another improvement was the addition of a state of the art embalming facility. Adjacent to the embalming facilty we added a dressing, cosmetic, and a beautician's room. All aspects of this facility meet or exceed any and all rules and regulations governing embalming facilities. This facility is inspected regularly by the sate and continuously receives high ratings.
During this time Holland Dairy closed its Morgantown facility, this created an opportunity for us to acquire the property next door, which allowed us to expand our parking and the former Holland Dairy facility is now home to Jones Monument Company . The new property enabled us to add a display area for monuments.
