James "Cut:" Whitaker

March 24, 1939

James "Cut" Whitaker, 79, of Morgantown, KY, Passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Morgantown Care and Rehab. James was born March 23, 1939 in Butler Co., KY to the late Leo and Eula Mae Moore Whitaker. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church and the Butler Co. Fox Hunters Club. James loved fox hunting, playing guitar, singing, attending church, and was a good Christian man. other than his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lynn Whitaker and one great-granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Mason.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edith Whitaker, of Morgantown, KY. one son, Barry Whitaker, (Kathy) of Morgantown, KY, one daughter, Beth Ann Wilson, of Morgantown, KY, five grandchildren; Jennifer Harris, (Jimmy) of Morgantown, KY, Everett Mason, (Tara) of Morgantown, KY, Kyle Whitaker, (Sherry), of Morgantown, KY, Cody Whitaker, (Cortney) of Horse Branch, KY and Sydney Wilson Zanolini, (Jeremy) of Fayettville, NC, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers; Darrel Whitaker, of Morgantown, KY and Timmy Whitaker, (Corkie) of Morgantown, KY, one sister, Gaye Smith, (Frankie) of Horse Branch, KY, one aunt, Violet Allen, of Morgantown, KY and several nieces and nephews. 
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12:00PM at Mt. Vernon Missionary  Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Garner and Bro. Jewell Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery with Bobby Amos, Everett Mason, Kyle and Cody Whitaker, Justin and Jimmy Harris and Dale Havens serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Jones Funeral chapel from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10:00AM until funeral time at 12:00PM at Mt.
