Devon was an avid sports fanatic and loved sports of all kinds. Many would say that Devon's blood run blue because he was so devoted to The University of Kentucky, LA Dodgers, as well as Butler County Sports. He devoted 25 years to the "Chain gang" for the Butler County football team, coached little league, and attended as many sporting events as he could to support his home town. Devon could answer almost any sports trivia question that was thrown his way. His dedication did not stop with Butler County Sports. He also supported the Butler County Marching Band for many years during the Blue Regiment period as part of the pit crew, band booster, and a supportive father. He continued to support the band as a grandfather. He was so proud when his grandson Weston followed the family tradition of joining band. For many people throughout the community, Devon will be remembered as a man who loved Christmas. He loved everything about Christmas from the music to the lights. He took great pleasure in putting up Christmas lights each year for those throughout the county to enjoy as they drove past his home. Devon also loved everything about Disney. He took his family to visit there each year and as he grew older, he often went twice a year. He enjoyed sharing this experience with his family, especially his two grandsons. For those who knew him best, they would say that Devon loved deeply. He loved the things mentioned above with great passion, however more than anything, he loved his family.
